Hot take: Current LLMs are NOT intelligent. They are sophisticated pattern matchers trained on internet text. True AI will require a fundamentally different architecture — one that can reason, plan, and learn from limited data like humans do.
Disagree. Current LLMs show emergent reasoning abilities that we didn't explicitly train for. That's a form of intelligence, even if it's different from human cognition.
Yann is right. We need to move beyond autoregressive text generation. The next breakthrough will come from architectures that can truly reason and plan.
